Introduction to the North London Cancer Research Network

The North London Cancer Research Network (NLCRN) is one of several regional networks in England forming the National Cancer Research Network (NCRN).

The NLCRN forms part of the NHS infrastructure to support cancer clinical research within the region. The focus is on staffing; 90% of funding going towards research staff across the network.

    The NLCRN aims to:

  • Improve patient care

  • Improve the coordination of research

  • Improve the speed of research

  • Maintain & enhance research quality

  • Improve the integration of research

  • Widen participation in research

    • Our targets are to recruit 10% of patients into trials of which 7.5% should be into Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs).
