Allied Healthcare Professionals

The Allied Health Professional (AHP) supports the aims of the North London Cancer network and aims to ensure representation of AHPs at strategic and operational levels within the network.

Membership consists of professions working within the field of oncology and palliative care and that are registered with the Health Professions Council: Art Therapists, Chiropodists/Podiatrists, Play/Activity Therapists, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists, Orthoptists, Physiotherapists, Prosthetists and Orthotists, Radiographers, and Speech and Language Therapists.

Remit of the Group

  • A forum for the provision of strategic advice and guidance to the network AHP Lead in order to effect delivery of high quality care to service users.

  • Facilitate multi-centre research, and education within oncology and palliative care.

  • Provide a supportive environment for sharing pertinent knowledge skills.

  • Represent the identified needs/views of AHPs to the NLCN tumour/generic boards, and feedback information to the AHP group.

  • Advise/assist the network board in issues pertaining to government legislation relevant to AHPs.

Frequency of Meetings

The AHP Group meets on a six weekly basis. The site of meetings rotates between several locations in order to maximise numbers attending. Please contact the Chair for location of upcoming meetings. Please contact the Chair to be placed on the circulation list.
