Nationally, 24 commissioning exemplar projects have been funded, details can be found in the attachment below.

The NLCN has been awarded funding for 1 year to run 2 projects:

  • Project Title Commissioning Brain/CNS cancer pathway

  • Aim – to develop a network wide clinical pathway for patients with suspected/actual Brain and CNS tumours from diagnosis, through treatment, rehabilitation and follow up

  • Project title - Commissioning Level 3 and 4 psychological support services

  • Aim - To develop a commissioning pathway, specification and competencies that is consistent with Improving Supportive and Palliative Care IOG at level 3 and 4 across the NLCN

One of the key outcomes for both projects will be the shared learning of how pathways were developed and challenges faced, within the engagement of the commissioning processes.
